Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is employed by ESPN and works as an SportsCenter anchor for news. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta has been bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in securing her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In 2009, the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become a sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories about the trafficking of drugs and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she worked as an anchor on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm, a news reporter in English for 9 pm, then a news anchor for 10 pm, and then returned back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. Also, she was often requested to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she takes on more responsibility. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was hired as anchor of the sports program by Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. The same role, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. They moved at some point towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She has an elder sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. The couple divorced soon after and, in 1995, she was married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. At the time of her senior year in high school and yet having a clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta visited at the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her preferences. As it turned out she loved the campus and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. She graduated from high school and enrolled into media school at the college. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. He inspired her to have confidence and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her, and she determined to fulfill his standards and never fail him.
